  • Play and Social Skills

Home, school & community visits

We provide a mobile service that comes to you.
It makes sense to assess and work on functional skills, in environments which are real life settings. Home visits are not only more convenient and comfortable for clients, it gives us a chance to review the home setting and see if there might be any suitable AT. It also enables us to provide hands-on, in-home training for families, carers and support workers.

Guided Growth also provides services in schools and within the community to promote social inclusion and community integration. Our creative, “think-outside-the-box” approach goes beyond conventional therapy and has seen us take clients to the shops, mini-golf, and even adaptive rock-climbing.

Assistive technology

Assistive technology (AT) refers to equipment and devices designed to improve independence and accessibility.
At Guided Growth, we have the knowledge and experience to prescribe complex assistive technology (AT) and environmental modifications, particularly with clients with complex physical conditions.

This includes customised wheelchairs, mobile and ceiling hoists, specialised bathing/toileting equipment, pressure care equipment, hi-lo powered beds, modified wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and home modifications.

We can support clients throughout the whole process from conducting comprehensive OT assessment, identifying AT needs, arranging equipment trials, liaising with suppliers, complete and submit applications for funding, as well as set-up fitting/adjustments, and arranging repairs/servicing when required.
